FLA Face to Face Training 培训课程概要

1. Joint Labor + Environment Training Workshop (Periodic)

 

Increasingly, foreign brands are demanding that factories meet additional labor and environmental requirements without relaxing the usual demands on cost, quality and timing. This 1-day training workshop will help factory management to understand the international context of CSR and buyers' expectations regarding workplace conditions and environmental management. By walking the participants through the various elements of labor code of conduct, and best practices to reduce environmental impact and costs in factories, the training offers a better insight into how ‘going beyond compliance’ can not only keep factories ahead of regulations but also reduce their risks and improve enterprise competitiveness.

2. Social Sustainability Awareness

The Social Sustainability Awareness is an ideal introductory training which exposes beginner-level factories, licensees or companies to the key concepts, framework, trends and implications of CSR. An important second part of the module looks at each element of the labour code of conduct, equipping participants with the essential know-how to start managing labor compliance issues systematically in their factories.

The FLA training on Human Resource Management deals with both strategic and administrative aspects of HR functions and shows how it can contribute to enhancing the overall enterprise competitiveness. 4. Hiring

The FLA training on Hiring takes a close look at the entire hiring process, covering various steps including job description development, recruitment strategy design, candidate selection, new employee orientation and performance assessment. The course provides practical insights and guidance on how to ‘hire right’ in terms of both finding the most suitable candidate for the job, and ensuring fair, objective and non-discriminatory hiring process and avoid possible risks.

5. Workers Participation

The training comprises a series of workshops aimed at ensuring proper and responsible worker and management representation at the workplace. Participants will gain first-hand exposure to management-worker dialogue. This insight into communication practices can help factories to create stronger internal communication channels and build lasting dialogue and integration practices. Participants will learn innovative methods of problem identification, root cause analysis, goal analysis, solution identification and consensus building, action planning, development of communication channels, and communication and negotiation skills. By the end of the course, participants will also have identified the issues affecting their workplace and worked through the steps to tackle those.

 

Standard duration: 4-6 days spread over 4-6 months

6. Dispute Settlement & Grievance Procedures

The FLA training in Dispute Settlement & Grievance Procedures encourages factories to put in place procedures that allow them to manage not only an isolated dispute but any conflict that arises within the organization. Management will learn how to install internal mechanisms for workers to channel their concerns as well as how to handle them properly. With effective grievance procedures and conflict resolution mechanisms, management and workers can take an active role in identifying, communicating, analyzing and solving problems which will contribute to sustainable improvement on working conditions and labor-management relations.

7. Hours of Work

The FLA Hours of Work training addresses the prevalent and persistent issue of excessive working hours in factories. It exposes participants to factors that result in long working hours, why it is in the management’s interest to address these factors, and how this can be done by focusing on hours of work management, production planning and risk management (e.g. handling buyers and suppliers).

8. Retrenchment

In addition to the loss of jobs and adverse impact on communities, downsizing and closures often also undermine workers’ rights. The objective of this training is to ensure that throughout the retrenchment process, workers’ rights are respected, retrenchment decisions are based on objective criteria, and that the factory is transparent with workers, clients and other stakeholders with respect to its retrenchment actions. The course will be particularly helpful for management of factories that want to be prepared for possible worker redundancy, as well as those whose factories are currently going through the process, to better understand what goes well and what does not, and become aware of the importance of communication before, during and after any layoff process.
