General FLA Orientation Session and Focused module on Training Internal Compliance Staff Session

Sessions:
  1. General FLA Orientation Session: Wednesday, May 13, 2009
  2. Focused module on Training Internal Compliance Staff: Thursday, May 14, 2009 - Postponed: new date to be confirmed (TBC)

About the sessions:

  1. General Orientation Session, May 13: This session is highly recommended for any FLA affiliates who have not yet attended a general orientation session. It will cover background on the FLA, compliance and the University and Licensee Programs. Depending on the participants, there may be separate afternoon sessions for different affiliation levels. Information about the Enhanced Licensee Program will be covered as all C licensees are being rolled into this program currently. The general session will cover the FLA company obligations including with respect to monitoring (and the difference between internal and external monitoring). Common questions about the FLA and process will be covered.
  2. Focused module on Training Internal Compliance Staff, May 14: This session is intended for affiliates who wish to learn more about developing their company’s internal compliance staff and will focus at length on this core FLA company obligation. If you have not yet attended a general orientation session it is recommended that you attend the session the day before to be able to fully understand the FLA company obligations and other requirements and get the most out of this more focused module.  Postponed - new date to be confirmed (TBC)

Both sessions will include interactive activities. The orientation will be facilitated by FLA staff while the session on Training Internal Compliance Staff will be facilitated by Tara Holeman of Level Works.

Who should attend: It would be ideal if one or more of the following company staff attended:

  1. The main contact(s) for the FLA and universities or their agents (for C licensees, especially the person who will be responsible for fulfilling the obligations of the Enhanced Licensee Program including completing the Licensee Profile and Self-Assessment).
  2. The person at your company who deals regularly with the factories (or agents)
  3. An executive level staff person
